1975-1977
REV. ARTHUR KLASSEN

At the annual vestry meeting on January 31st 1975, Father Klassen discussed the church attendance for the year 1974 as being very disappointing; morning services averaging 9.1 persons and Evensong 8.1 persons.

He suggested that parishioners of Rougemont join with Farnham for " Coffee Hours" and with a Christmas " Open House". In 1976, he expressed his pleasure with the closer relationship established with Farnham. Confirmation to take place on June 9th in Farnham.

During 1977, repairs to foundation of the parsonage were completed, the roof was painted and aluminum windows installed on the downstairs windows.

Father Klassen resigned in 1977 to accept the position of rector at Winnipeg. 

1978-1984
REV. GORDON SMITH

At the annual meeting on January 21st 1979, the Rev. G. Smith thanked the people of Rougemont for their kindness shown since his arrival. He suggested the possibility of mid-week lenten services to be held in different homes.

An Epiphany Carol Service was held in 1980 with an attendance of 33. In 1981, Rougemont accepted with pleasure the gift of the organ from Farnham.

In 1981, expressions of sympathy were expressed to the family of Sam Wardlaw on his sudden death. He had served 12 years as Secretary-Treasurer of St. Thomas' Church and will be remembered for his work and dedication to the Church.

During 1981, extensive repairs were carried out on the foundation of the church and on the plaster inside of the church. Services were held in the homes during the repair period.

A new furnace was installed in the parsonage during 1982, with the financial help of Ivan Standish.

Discussions were undertaken with the Synod office concerning the disposal of the former school property. The building is need of repairs and is not used to its capacity.

Upon his retirement, Father Smith moved to Brockville.
