ORGANISTS AND CHOIR LEADERS

The names of the organists and choir leaders were not always included in the minutes of the vestry. However, music seemed to play an impotant part in the early church, beginning with the purchase of the barrel organ from Chambly in 1856.

Many organs seem to have been bought and or donated since the founding of the church. The present organ was bought in Montreal, in 1986 at a cost of $1,300.00. The barrel organ still occupies an important place in the church and is played on special occasions.
