A commitee of James Standish, J.F. Mc Bride, and L.H. Bachelder was formed to "procure subscriptions towards the erection of a new church and to place at interest whatever moneys may be paid in with the view of having a fund as large as possible ready whenever it may be neccessary to go on with the work".

On Nov. 20th 1875, tenders had been received for the work, with John neil being the lowest tender. It was agreed to put up a front porch and to build a 'privy' in the rear, in addition to other repairs for $99,00.

In 1879, Rev. Robinson requested taht provision be made to relieve him of part or all his work in the mission. Mr. A. Bishop refused to ordain anyone while the mission fund of this diocese is in debt. However, "he was willing to license Mr. Lee, as Cathechist and Lay Reader if approved of upon examination and ordain him towards the automn if found worthy and circumstances would permit of his doing so".

A committee was formed to raise means by subscription towards the salary of an assistant minister and to ascertain where and on what terms board for him can be had and to report as early as possible to the chairman.

Mr. Kaylor, on behalf of Mrs. Whitfield, requested permission to erect a stall for the shelter of a horse and carriage near the church. Several parties proposed uniting with Mr. Kaylor in building a horse shed, and permission was authorized by the wardens.

"In 1881, Mr.Robinson resigned from Rougemont, but still ministered to Abbotsford for another 8 years until 1889. In 1893, death claimed this servant of God in his 70th year, to await the glorious Resurrection of the Redeemed. Before his death, he was made an Honorable Canon." (History of Parish, Brewer,1913)
